Zaska, Haiku, Join Me in the Pines

Lost Lane are so excited to bring these three amazing acts together on a triple bill set to have the dance floor busy from start to finish.

We’re very disappointed to share that due to a band member breaking his collar-bone, Join Me in the Pines are unable to perform at our scheduled triple-bill alongside Zaska and Haiku on April 25th at Lost Lane. The Doctor’s orders were to avoid any exertion that could hinder a proper recovery, especially at this crucial stage of the healing process. In order to be fully fit for our festival commitments over the summer, we are forced to miss this much anticipated gig next week. We’ll be seeing you at one of the festivals over the summer. Thanks for patience and understanding. Dave

Haiku Bio

Haiku is a Dublin-based rock band that takes influence from an alternate dimension where Peter Gabriel, The Police and Tool grew up in West Africa! With a catalogue of songs covering everything from pop-funk to relentless rock, the common thread to be found is a deep West-African influence backed up by stellar musicianship.

Just two years in, Haiku are already building a name for themselves as one of Ireland’s most explosive and dynamic live bands. They have had the privilege to open for the likes of Cory Wong, (Vulfpeck) jazz legend Roy Ayers and FORQ (Snarky Puppy) to huge success. It is clear that this band’s live show and unique genre-busting sound is a force to be reckoned with!

Haiku are led by Tommy Moore, one of Ireland’s top session bass players. He holds down the low-end for artists such as Booka Brass, Declan O’Rourke, Mick Pyro, Ralf Rolle (Chic) and Zaska, to name a few. He is also an accomplished songwriter, having penned a top 10 hit “New Tattoo” for Choice Music Prize winner Julie Feeney. Together, with a supergroup of his peers, they’ve come together to erupt a sonic volcano on the Irish music scene.

“ Exciting and unusual “ Declan O’Rourke
“I love the beautiful melodies and intricate guitar work in Tommy’s music. He sets a powerful backdrop for his wonderful songs” Julie Feeney
“ This is my shit ” Mick Pyro (Republic of loose)

ZASKA serves up a feel-good blend of funk, jazz, and R&B known as Future Soul. Max Zaska is the maestro songwriter-guitarist leading a supergroup of Ireland’s finest talent, with a revolving roster that has included Hozier and members of Wyvern Lingo, Little Green Cars, and BARQ.

Having just released his Debut Album It Takes A VIllage on Feb 1st 2019 feat. more than 25 artists and musicians to rave reviews from numerous Irish publications and selling out his Button Factory album launch, 2019 is off to a very good start.

Along with Future Soul contemporaries, Hiatus Kaiyote, Vulfpeck, and Snarky Puppy, ZASKA is popular with people who appreciate solid head-nodding grooves and touches of the unconventional. With blistering guitar licks, soulful vocals, stanky bass hooks, tightly driven percussion, jazzy keyboards, and killer horns, ZASKA’s compositions are a complex mix.

Fuelled by a supernova of raw energy, ZASKA has earned a reputation for stellar live shows and landed rave reviews on Irish festival and club appearances. Golden Plec in a recent said of his album launch “You’ll be hard pressed to find a more joyous musical experience in Ireland in 2019”

“Zaska must be commended for the vision he brings to the table on his debut” – Nialler9

“One of the most unique and exciting albums in recent memory” – Earmilk

“Outragiously groovy, feel good, debut” – Totally Dublin

Join Me in the Pines

Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter David Geraghty has been a driving force behind Bell X1 since the band’s inception 20 years ago, through seven studio albums, four of which went straight to No.1, extensive world tours, as well as opening for acts such as U2, Ed Sheeran, Tori Amos & Snow Patrol.

Geraghty’s solo debut ‘Kill Your Darlings’ (2007) was received with critical acclaim and was followed up in 2009 with the equally evocative ‘The Victory Dance’. David has been short-listed for accolades such as the Irish Meteor Award and the Choice Music Prize. In recent years he began composing music for Film & TV (productions that starred Aidan Gillan & Tom Vaughan-Lawlor). In 2014 Geraghty released his third solo album ‘Inherit’; but this time under the new project title ‘Join Me in the Pines’.
